I remember my first experience with a decorated saguaro cactus and the beauty of the lights on them. I thought you might like to see how they looked.

I have been blessed to hear the Christmas story all my life but it wasn’t until I accepted the Christ Child that the story gave me hope. My wish for all who read this is to see the real reason we celebrate.

Merry Christmas!  You are loved.

Thank You and Happy Reading!

Greetings to you today!

I first want to thank all who liked Beautiful Hands Ministries on Facebook.  My prayer and hope is for the website and the Facebook site to be a helpful and encouraging few moments in your life.  I felt God's leading to establish a non-profit corporation several years ago, but I didn't know what to name it.  You can see the rest of that story on the website.

When I gave my heart to Christ 52 years ago, I knew I must follow God's direction and commit to making ministry my focus.  This first book is to help people hear through the examples of life how God wants to work with people of all situations to show His love.  I suggested In Sickness and in Health: a Love Story for a stocking stuffer because it touches lives in many common challenges.  The title would suggest it is only about a husband and wife committed to each other, whatever comes, but there is another unmistakable fact.  The love of God that is the core of their hope is also the basis for the "Love Story".  I love because He is love.  Many celebrate this most blessed time of the year in only the materialistic sense, with giving and getting gifts as the basis for the reason for the season.  I prefer the Biblical approach to the season since I have dreams of what I want to see each day, but no vision of assurance without the hope that comes from the Creator Himself.  My hope, love, and future are in the love of God.  The "Love Story" is also how the love of God brought us through the tough times.  It is about how we can learn to trust God in difficult times.

I have discovered that I like to tell stories to illustrate a point.  I know from experience that pain is pain.  I have experienced physical pain and emotional pain, and no matter which one it is, it still hurts.  So if I can tell a story that can paint a picture that helps someone handle pain a little better, maybe it will be a blessing to them.

A friend told me last night that she had just finished reading my book, and she felt every couple planning to be married should read it because of the commitment represented in the story.  Interestingly enough, "in sickness and in health" is a part of the wedding vows agreed to in most wedding ceremonies.

As I conclude for this time, remember, God is good all the time and He loves you!

Happy reading!

IN SICKNESS AND IN HEALTH: A LOVE STORY IS AN INSPIRATIONAL STORY YOU HAVE TO READ!

God uses you to touch lives even when you see the impossible!

Tom Amlin was born and raised in Ohio, living on a farm until he graduated from high school and attended Urbana University. His ambition was to become a basketball coach and math teacher. That changed after visiting Circleville Bible College, now known as Ohio Christian University, where he later received his degree in ministry and counseling. His visit there was to be a fun weekend with friends, but while there, God brought conviction on his life.

Tom committed his life to Christ that weekend and met Jackie Small who would become his bride just 14 months later.

I am very thankful and pleased to present this video of Phase I from the Siloam Church building project on the Gila River Reservation. With God’s blessings, people who came to work from the church, work teams, volunteers, and missionaries, we were able to have our re-dedication and celebration on November 12, 2017.

God is blessing the work at Siloam and we plan to share more with you in coming weeks. We have started the architectural work on Phase II and will be posting a sketch in coming weeks. Please pray for the work of the church and preparation for the next big step.

In His service,
Tom

Siloam Church Progressing Towards Re-Dedication on Nov. 12

10/28/2017

The work at Siloam Church is progressing. We have been pretty busy trying to get Phase I finished in time for a re-dedication on November 12th.

The work team from Ohio, and some of the people from the church did a great job together. We hated when it was time for the team from Ohio to leave. Together, we have been able to reconstruct some walls, re-route some electrical switches, build a good permanent storage room and a temporary storage room, build some false beams, change some lights, fill in 2 doors, repair some drywall, and now we are trying to finish the drywall, paint, and put up the trim.

After the team left, some of the people from Siloam Church have continued to help and it is such a joy to work with them. I will try to keep updates coming with pictures. Please continue to keep us in your prayers.

In His service,
Tom Amlin

Siloam Church Renovation Update

8/7/2017

Comments

Renovations and improvements continue at Siloam Church on the Gila River Reservation.

The original front door was torn out and replaced with block to allow the church to reverse the building's layout.

See the process and end result in the slideshow. Pastor Steve Cartwright has commented on how much easier it is to hear at the front of the church after the improvements.

Siloam Church Ministry

7/24/2017

One of the ministries we are blessed to be a part of is the redesign and remodel of the Siloam Church on the Gila River Reservation.

This church was established over 100 years ago when a man donated the land to the people to build a sandwich building for church.

What is a sandwich building you ask? We will answer that question and more as we continue to feature the Siloam church with more history, new progress, ministry development, and how you can help if you like. The information will be ongoing for the next few weeks which will include members, work teams, and maybe pictures of a sunset.
